How to Become a Succesful Housewife

I wonder why is there a perception that a woman has to be employed to fulfill her needs?

I was also among the ones who wanted to have a job at any cost. I've got a job when I was 20 years old, I spent everything I've earned on fun, wardrobe, makeup and my parents took care about me and my basic needs.

Then there was a point when I became someone's mother. Baby girl was born and when she was three months old I've returned to work. I asked my mom to take care of the baby and I was at work from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. I was looking with compassion at my friends who stayed at home with their kids.

As the time passed, I realized what kind of mistake I was making. Fatigue was taking it's toll on me. I became a machine. Work, kid, lunch, home errands... there was no time from rest. I was nervous, tired and moody. Then I figured it out... I was missing the best things because of money.

There is no money to make up my baby's first steps, first words and sheer warmth of my home when I greet my dear ones with a smile on my face.

Then I've made a decision. Nothing and nobody will stand between.

Now, I'm unemployed but I have a husband, two lovely daughters and, of course, a cat and we make one happy family. It's a full time job, nevertheless, sometimes double-shift, but I always have time and will to dedicate my time to my family.

My day begins with a ritual coffee drinking and newspaper reading ... and then – the work begins. Dishes, breakfast, lunch, house cleaning, small repairs, ironing (I hate this one), school assignments with my older daughter, playing with younger one... and I still manage to find a time for myself.

If you are a unemployed mother like me, you shouldn't despair because of it. You should enjoy each and every moment because those moments are priceless.
Hi! I am Dijana Nikolic, a satisfied housewife! Welcome to my blog.
